The Springfield Puerto Rican Parade has brought a vibrant and affirming celebration of Puerto Rican heritage to Springfield, Massachusetts, for over three decades! This year marks the 35th anniversary of the exciting event, which will be held on September 14, 2025.
The celebration features a combination of classic events and new festivities that are sure to delight residents, visitors, and local businesses alike in Springfield. Get your plans together to make the most of this community celebration!
Where is the Puerto Rican Parade?
While the parade itself is a Sunday event, many visitors will fill the area on Saturday as well. There will be plenty of live music and delicious food, so you can definitely make a weekend out of it. Those coming in from out of town should book their hotel rooms in advance, as they tend to fill up quickly.
Plan ahead to make sure you have a non-stressful start on parade day. There will be several street closures to allow for a safe and clear parade route, but nearby lots will have free parking for the day.
If you want to get a bright and early start, you can sign up for the Pa’lante 5k! This new event offers participants the chance to run the parade route beginning at 8 AM on Sunday morning and is open to experienced runners trying to beat their record, as well as those just in it for the fun.
The parade will kick off on Sunday, September 14, at 11 AM at Main and Wason and continue down Main Street for about two miles before wrapping up at Main and Bridge. Getting a spot near the end of the route will put you right in the middle of the festivities as the parade winds down, but if you’re looking for a slightly less crowded experience, choosing a midway viewing point might be a better fit.
Be sure to keep an eye out for Zaza Green! We’ll be among the thousands of marchers and are excited to support our community.
